A computer lab usually has several (20-30) identical PCs, connected to a LAN. Installing and maintaining all of them one by one is a tedious work. Setting them up with central user accounts and central authentication is quite difficult even for experts.
Fortunately there is a simple solution that simplifies this task a lot. It works by installing and setting up only one of the PCs, and booting the rest from the LAN. The main PC will be used as a template for the other ones. User accounts and home directories will be created on the main PC and will be mounted on other PCs through the network, when a user makes a login.
In this workshop we are going to install and use LTSP (https://ltsp.org/), just to get a taste of how easy and convenient it is, and we will discuss about its benefits and advantages. It works well with all the Ubuntu and Debian based distros, including FUSS.
