What Does Coding Do to Your Mind?

Last year we looked inside the programmer’s mind. This year we ask a different question: what does programming do to the mind? Programming is one of humanity’s most recent cognitive inventions, but does learning it actually improve the way we think? Rather than relying on common claims, this talk explores what cognitive science tells us about programming, the cognitive processes behind computational thinking, their transfer to broader problem-solving skills, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping this relationship.
