Digital sovereignty is the bedrock of European autonomy, yet many public and corporate organizations still depend on proprietary black boxes that compromise data control. We believe that knowledge is an organization’s core asset, and its ownership must be verified and protected through open architectures.
This session presents an integrated model using ILIAS, a European open-source environment that unifies an LMS and a CMS into a single infrastructure (LCMS). This setup eliminates technological fragmentation by placing training, operational documentation, and institutional communication within a single, secure perimeter.
We will share concrete operational data from three live deployments: the “Copernicus” network of the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano (190,000+ users), the DIAdemia platform for the Horizon Europe DIAMETER project, and the onboarding framework of the pan-European movement Volt Europa.
