User-centered design is an essential part of software development in our time. There is no doubt about it. We need to understand and focus users needs and create context in order to build useful software. User testing makes sure that the produced solution works. The question is: how much should we involve users? Can they really create valuable output when left to describe there experience using their own devices or do we just interview them and ask for feedback after the design process? In my talk I will give examples how users can be actively involved in creating interface designs, even if they have no experience in IT or design.
