The EU’s Cyber Resilience Act has raised a lot of concern in the Open Source world over the past few years. Thankfully, interventions by the Open Source community have steered the law in a better direction, and many fears about the law have been addressed. But the interventions of the Community have gone beyond simply fixing the CRA.
In this talk, OSI’s EU Policy Analyst, Jordan Maris, will explain how the changes the Community made have transformed the CRA into an Open Source Sustainability law, reducing the burden on Open Source developers, while creating funding opportunities for community projects and an new business model for Open Source companies.
