The career copilot: a human-first, open-source ecosystem for lifelong skill certification

This talk introduces the “Integrated Digital Hub”, an innovative ecosystem for training, skill certification, and career guidance, engineered with a “human-first” philosophy. The project’s core mission is to create a single digital platform that formally maps, validates, and certifies all of an individual’s skills, regardless of whether they were acquired through traditional courses, work
experience, or informal learning.
Our architecture is strategically built to be entirely “vendor free,” leveraging market-leading opensource technologies. The platform integrates Moodle 5.0 as its LMS, an xAPI-compliant Learning Record Store (LRS) for comprehensive activity tracking, and a custom AI/ML engine built with standard libraries. This engine acts as a “career copilot,” analyzing a user’s dynamic skill profile to identify gaps and recommend personalized training paths. By transforming experience into tangible, certified value, this solution empowers individuals and provides organizations with a powerful tool for human capital development.
