How does a whole industry move to FOSS? How does a conservative industry, one with nearly a hundred years of engineering process behind it, bound by tradition and regulatory requirements move to Free Software? By recognizing the incredible pace that Linux is travelling at and working to understand that licenses and practices that Free Software and Open Source provide, the automotive industry is moving in the direction of many other industries towards a more open future. There are challenges of course but many opportunities, I’ll present both and hope to have a lively discussion around these issues.
