Environmental contamination poses significant challenges for sustainable land management and informed decision-making. This talk presents an open-source web platform, developed by Gruppo FOS in Italy,as part of the PoLaRecCE European project, designed to simplify the collection, management, and visualization of environmental monitoring data. Through an interactive map-based interface, the platform enables researchers, public authorities, and other stakeholders to explore contamination data, monitor affected areas, and support evidence-based decisions. The presentation will also discuss how open technologies improve transparency, collaboration, and accessibility in environmental data management, making advanced monitoring tools available to a wider community, also how the open-source software contributes to European digital sovereignty by enabling organizations to retain control over their infrastructure, data, and software stack while avoiding vendor lock-in.
