In recent years, videogames have started entering schools in the shape of educational games – i.e. games designed to teach something. Considering that the tools used in schools should be democratic and transparent, having them as free software is an essential prerequisite. These are the values behind “Pronto? Sig. Muschio!”, the first educational game made in Italy that is also free software. Developed with Luanti and set in a colourful narrative universe, Pronto? Sig. Muschio’s goal is to make young learners aware of how disinformation works through a cooperative learning approach. Pilot projects run during the early summer have shown a great appreciation, both from students and teachers, allowing the game to be showcased to the general public. Lose yourself in the streets of the three cities where the story takes place and get ready to untangle the mystery behind it.
