After years of running and moderating large Fediverse communities in Italy, we have experimented with different migration strategies: from simple cross-posting to content adaptation, follower migration campaigns, curated account collections, onboarding techniques, and community-building initiatives.

Rather than promoting an “all or nothing” migration, it explores how creators, organizations and activists can reduce their dependence on proprietary social networks while continuing to reach their existing audiences.
