Let’s face it: nobody wants to run Windows, but most people sooner or later need to run it for some more or less strange use-case.
This usually leaves you with the need for a recovery plan. Although this can certainly be done using standard Windows tools, the process is by no means straightforward or simple.
Having been thoroughly disappointed by the tools available in both the open-source and commercial sectors, we ultimately implemented our own solution.
The result is Barri – the Bareos Recovery Imager. It is a complete tool for creating and restoring Windows disaster recovery images.
Barri can create a full recovery image of a running Windows system without downtime, using a flexible standalone program (barri-cli), or through the Bareos File Daemon (as a plugin).
