Through the OpArc Project, Arc-Team has contributed over the last 20 years to research in the pioneering field of Open Source as applied to archaeology. Among the main achievements of the project are the development of ArcheOS, the first GNU/Linux system for archaeologists, and the establishment of ArcheoFOSS, a conference specifically focused on archaeology and Open Source. Arc-Team has also innovated in the field of archaeorobotics with open hardware prototypes such as ArcheoDrone and ArcheoRov. Additionally, the company has promoted the concept of Open Knowledge and the use of Open Data by organizing Wikipedia edit-a-thons and designing web GIS (RAPTOR) for recording and sharing archaeological data online, thereby advancing open access in cultural heritage.
