HMS (Humanity Management System) is a distributed network of independent nodes, each owned by a different individual, designed to operate as a single coherent system regardless of which node a user connects to. The infrastructure is built on Debian 12, Python/Flask, and a private IPFS network over IPv6, with all inter-node communication secured via RSA 4096-bit SSH tunnels.
The system admits only physical persons — no institutions, no abstract entities, no monetary transactions. It is governed through an Authority/Governance model: Authorities are Python programs that manage interactions between elements of a knowledge graph covering all areas of human activity (food production, healthcare, education, natural resource management, and more). Each Authority is governed by a group of domain-competent individuals who define and modify the rules implemented in the program, with no central point of control.
The talk will cover the architecture of the network, the synchronization mechanism across nodes, the Authority/Governance model, and the current state of the project (5 operational nodes). The goal is to find collaborators willing to contribute to the infrastructure’s development and to the first governance groups.
