Valerie Aurora is a Free Software developer and community organizer. She wrote her first Linux kernel code in 1998 and went on to work on operating systems, networking, and file systems at Red Hat, IBM, and Intel. After moving from Silicon Valley to Amsterdam, she became a Special Rapporteur for the Cyber Resilience Act. She is currently working on a new distributed network file system for Linux, rpdfs. In her spare time, she started a volunteer movement called Internet Resiliency Club to improve local digital resilience.
