Tiago Silva obtained his first and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL). He received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (IST/UL) in 2015, developing research work in the field of deterministic and stochastic model updating in structural dynamics.
I am Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCT), working in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in the Structural Mechanics group. I am a researcher at the Research and Development Unit for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (UNIDEMI). I am involved with the EPPIC group, which promotes the study and preservation of industrial and scientific heritage through the use of knowledge in mechanics to characterise and document items in collections.
