Sandra Barthel
Political Scientist and Journalist
Sandra Barthel is an interdisciplinary scientist and journalist based in Vienna and Berlin. With a longstanding commitment to digitalization for the common good, she actively advocates for interoperable digital infrastructure across Europe. Sandra has organized and moderated Vienna’s net-political evening for many years, fostering dialogue on democratic alternatives to the platform economy. As a member of the Digital Society and Wikimedia, she champions free knowledge and open, participatory digital spaces. Sandra is also engaged in strengthening diversity and inclusion in tech as a member of FSFE Women, Women in Open Source Software, and the Haecksen network.
