I’ve been using and writing free software since before it was called that, in university research labs and private companies from small start-ups to large multinationals, and while consulting for education-oriented non-profit organizations. In parallel to that, I’ve also taught and done research on mathematics and computer science at around a dozen universities in six time zones.
