Jaz‑Michael King is Executive Director of IFTAS, a non-profit supporting volunteer moderators across decentralised social media networks. With a background in health informatics and public-interest technology, he brings over two decades of experience in systems design, data ethics, and digital governance.
A long-time advocate for community-led moderation, Jaz founded the bilingual English/Cymraeg (Welsh)-language Fediverse platform Tŵt Cymru and has led the development of tools that centre transparency, equity, and human rights in online trust and safety work. He is a frequent contributor to public discourse on federated platforms, content classification, and the challenges of moderation at scale.
Originally from Wales and based in New York, his work bridges cultural preservation and technical innovation, with a focus on building safe, inclusive, and accountable digital spaces.
