With a professional background in the film industry, Heike has long been fascinated by image data. A passion that led to a career in digital image processing. Now mainly using Python but also venturing into other programming languages. Driven by curiosity for data analysis and software development, they fully transitioned into a career in computer science, where their focus remains on image processing, but also extends to automated quality assurance and software delivery pipelines.
Originally from Berlin, Germany, Heike values cultural diversity and finds inspiration in the open-source community’s democratic, global collaboration. Today, as a Research Software Engineer at Eurac Research in Bolzano, they contribute their skills to supporting researchers working on environmental and sociological challenges, while also enjoying the nature and mountains that drew them to South Tyrol.
