Dr. Alessandra Melonio (Italian) is a Researcher at the Smart Data Factory of the Faculty of Computer Science of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (UniBZ). Alessandra Melonio obtained her PhD in computer science with excellence marks at UniBZ in 2016. She also gained the best PhD student award at the Faculty of Computer Science of UniBZ in 2016. After her degree in Information and Automation Engineering at the University of L’Aquila (2011), she collaborated at the TERENCE, DARE, GAPH, GOST and SOfAa projects, working on gamification and tangible design with and for children, and collaborating with local schools and education bodies.
She co-authored more than 30 international peer-review papers in the area of human computer interaction, e.g., ACM CHI, TEI, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (JHCS, Elsevier), Journal of Multimedia Tools and Applications (MTAP, Springer) . She is regularly part of review panels of top ACM conferences in IDC, e.g., CHI, CHIPlay, IDC, TEI and journals, e.g., MTAP (Springer).
