About the European SFS Award

We are proud to announce our partnership with the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) and the Linux User Group Bozen-Bolzano-Bulsan (LUGBZ), further cementing our dedication to promoting Free Software values on a broader scale.

How to Nominate

To nominate a deserving individual for the European SFS Award, simply fill out our nomination form. Your input is essential in helping us identify those who have made exceptional contributions to Free Software.

The nomination process is straightforward and respects your privacy. In the Nomination Form (below) you should include:

  • Candidate’s full name
  • A brief biography or curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A concise list of the candidate’s most relevant Free Software projects
  • A short text explaining your motivation for the nomination

You also have the option to submit your name alongside the nomination, but anonymity is respected if you prefer to nominate someone anonymously.

The European SFS Award and SFS Award ceremony will take centre stage on the first day of the SFSCON conference, on Friday, November 7, 2025.

This event will recognise the exceptional contributions of both global and local Free Software advocates. Join us at SFSCON to witness the moment when we honour and celebrate the exceptional contributions to the Free Software culture.
